Why families in Rizal look for English tuition

Rizal province sits on the edge of Metro Manila, and that creates a particular problem for parents looking for a private tutor. Good tutors cluster in Quezon City and Pasig, and a home visit to Antipolo, Cainta, Taytay, Binangonan, San Mateo or Rodriguez means either a travel premium or an hour of traffic each way. Many Rizal families end up paying for a tutor's commute rather than their teaching.

Our lessons are built around getting one-to-one English teaching without paying for a tutor to cross the city. Children follow the K to 12 curriculum set by the Department of Education at school, and a tutor who understands that context is more useful than one teaching a generic syllabus.

Lesson times that fit a Rizal school day

Rizal shares our teaching timezone, so after-school lessons are straightforward: anything between 15:00 and 20:00 local time is a normal slot for us.

Times are always displayed in your own local timezone inside the dashboard, so there is nothing to convert and nothing to get wrong.

What a lesson looks like

Your child speaks the whole lesson

In a class of forty a child might speak for three minutes. One-to-one, they speak for twenty-five. That is the entire difference in how quickly confidence grows.

Real coursebooks

Lessons follow Cambridge and Oxford books — Power Up, Global English, Family and Friends, Grammar Friends — not improvised worksheets.

Written feedback every time

After each class the teacher records what was practised, what went well and what to work on, with words to practise at home.

A teacher you chose

Questions from Rizal parents

Do you come to our house in Antipolo or Cainta?

No. Every lesson is online, from our teaching base in the Philippines, which is why there is no travel fee and no waiting for a tutor who is stuck on Ortigas Extension. Your child joins from home on a laptop or tablet.

How is this different from a private tutor who visits?

A home tutor in Rizal typically charges a travel premium and can usually only offer the slots that fit their route. Online lessons are 25 or 50 minutes, booked when they suit your family, and the first one is free.

We live in Rodriguez, far from the city. Will the connection be good enough?

The classroom is built for ordinary home internet and has a low-bandwidth mode. It runs in the browser with nothing to install.

Can the tutor help with my child’s K to 12 school work?

Yes. Teachers can work directly on the reading, writing and speaking tasks your child is set at school, alongside the Cambridge and Oxford coursebooks.
